WELCOME TO THE MONTESSORI CHILDREN'S HOUSE
at Portland's South Waterfront 3626 SW Bond St.
The new Montessori Children's House is planning to open Sept. 13 for children 15 months through 5 years of age. We are located in the ground floor of the John Ross Condominium building, directly across from the new Elizabeth Caruthers Park. We have completed construction of this lovely new facility and are still enrolling toddlers (from 15 months) as well as 3-5 year olds. Remaining openings are limited, especially at the toddler level.
Experienced Montessori educators from Portland have joined to create an outstanding school in this exciting new community in the central city. The teachers are trained and certified by the Association Montessori Internationale, the oldest and most rigorous Montessori organization. Head of the school is David Cannon, who has over 25 years of experience in Montessori teaching and administration in the Portland area.
In addition to the specially prepared environments within the school, we will make abundant use of the outdoors. The new park, the Willamette Greenway featuring close-up views of the river, and Ross Island with its heron rookeryare all in close proximity. There are also attractive man-made spaces at the John Ross and adjacent buildings, which include the fascination of running water and open spaces for games and picnics.
Use the menu on this temporary web site to learn more details, and you can contact us through the link on this page. If you fill out the "initial information form," we'll have you on our list for announcements by email.
